Avon Police Department Responds to Serious Motorcycle Crash on Harrison Boulevard

AVON — Chief Jeffrey Bukunt reports that the Avon Police Department responded to a serious motorcycle crash yesterday.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, members of the Avon Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of Harrison Boulevard near Pond Street for a report of a motorcycle crash.

Upon arrival, first responders located a single rider on the motorcycle that had crashed. There is no indication at this time that there were any other vehicles involved in the incident.

The operator of the motorcycle, a 37-year-old Brockton man, was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center and later to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. His injuries are believed to be life-threatening but he is listed in stable condition at this time.

The identity of the operator is being withheld pending notification of his family, and no further information is available at this time.

The Avon Police Department was assisted by members of the Massachusetts State Police. The crash remains under investigation and anyone with any information is asked to contact the Avon Police Department at 508-583-6677.
