AVON — The Avon Board of Selectmen wishes to announce that Town Administrator Gregory Enos will be stepping down from his position this week.
Enos submitted his resignation to the Board of Selectmen in December and will be leaving the town on Monday, Jan. 23. To view his letter of resignation, click here.
“The board wishes to thank Mr. Enos for his time with our town and we wish him the best of luck in the future. We acknowledge that Greg was a very important part in getting our town through the Covid pandemic and is leaving the town in good shape to face the future,” Chairman Eric Beckerman said. “On behalf of the Board of Selectmen, the employees of our town and the residents of Avon, I thank Mr. Enos for his service and commitment to our town during the last four and a half years.”
The Board of Selectmen will begin considering options to begin the search for a new Town Administrator immediately, including the possibility of hiring a consulting firm specializing in recruitment. The Board of Selectmen will keep residents informed throughout the search process.
“It has been my honor to serve the Board of Selectmen and the people of Avon. It is an amazing community with many great qualities and opportunities in the future,” Enos said. “I feel assured that the Selectmen and the department staff will continue to provide the leadership and guidance that has been essential to advancing the improvements to our Town.”
Jim Purcell will join the town and serve as Interim Town Administrator until a permanent replacement is found. Purcell, who is a longtime Town Administrator, has served in an interim capacity in numerous towns including East Bridgewater, West Boylston, and previously Avon.
