Joint Release from the Towns of Avon and Holbrook and PhysicianOne Urgent Care

DRIVE-THROUGH COVID-19 TESTING SITE IN HOLBROOK FOR PRE-REGISTERED PATIENTS ONLY ON MONDAY, JUNE 8 FROM 12PM-4PM.

HOLBROOK – The Towns of Avon and Holbrook along with PhysicianOne Urgent Care announced today that a drive-through COVID-19 testing site will be set up at the Holbrook Middle-High School, located at 245 South Franklin Street, Holbrook, MA 02343, on Monday, June 8 from 12-4PM. Licensed PhysicianOne Urgent Care health care providers will test patients who have pre-registered to receive a car-side medical evaluation on the day of the testing event.

Patients with symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste/smell, and general malaise are encouraged to register for testing. In addition, PhysicianOne Urgent Care is offering COVID-19 testing to all essential workers, even those without symptoms. This drive-through event is for virus testing, not antibody testing. COVID-19 antibody testing is available every day at all PhysicianOne Urgent Care locations.

Patients do not need to be current patients of PhysicianOne Urgent Care but must complete registration before Friday, June 5 at 12pm EST. Patients can register for testing by going to https://physicianoneurgentcare.com/drive-through-covid-19-testing/ and following the prompts for testing registration.

“Expansion of testing enables us to detect COVID-19 in people with mild illness or risk factors to isolate them to prevent further disease transmission,” said Katie Goldrick, Board of Health Chairman.

“The Avon Board of Health is grateful to be able to partner with PhysicanOne to offer residents and essential employees of Avon and Holbrook an opportunity to be tested for Covid-19. Although numbers are decreasing, if we can prevent the spread of Covid-19 by testing those who may not have been tested, we are protecting the public health of our communities. I encourage anyone with any symptoms or any essential employee to take advantage of this opportunity.” Gerald Picardi, Chairman of the Avon Board of Health.

“PhysicianOne Urgent Care provides convenient access to high-quality, cost effective care. We pride ourselves in partnering with local municipalities to focus on improving health outcomes for residents,” said Dr. Jeannie Kenkare, DO, PhysicianOne Urgent Care Co-founder and Chief Medical Officer. “We recognize the need for increased access to testing resources right now. We are proud to partner with the Towns of Avon and Holbrook to provide this service to local communities.”

PhysicianOne Urgent Care does have COVID-19 virus and antibody testing available every day at all 23 locations across Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York. Residents are encouraged to visit www.P1UC.com with questions about COVID-19 testing, symptoms or exposure.
